 Integrated octave and one-third octave band measurements with the FX100 Audio Analyzer
Octave and one-third octave band representations of measurements are widely used in sound level meters. While spectrums for audio applications are rather typically represented by high-resolution FFTs, there are also audio applications where octave or one-third octave band results are preferred or even required by the standard. From firmware V2.9.0, the FX100 Audio Analyzer supports fast and direct measurement of both FFT and octave and one-third octave band spectrums.

Ster-Kinekor relies on XL2 for Cinema Calibrations
Ster-Kinekor is the leading cinema exhibitor in South Africa. The company developed and maintains 57 high-quality cinema multiplexes throughout the country. For an optimized sound performance, its in-house service teams rely on the XL2 Acoustic Analyzer.
The XL2 Analyzer offers the dedicated measurement tools for cinema installations. The South-African company Ster-Kinekor selected the handheld XL2 for its cinema performance tests and periodic verifications. The acoustic frequency spectrum of each surround sound channel is measured and compared with the specified X-Curve tolerance band. The LFE-channel is tested in the same manner for sufficient performance. This confirms the cinema setup to the standard in less than an hour per cinema. The Ster-Kinekor service team also checks the sound insulation between neighboring cinemas with the same instrument, ensuring independent movie performances.
